Graciela de Lugo Lauro ('61)
Dr. Graciela de Lugo Lauro is a 1961 graduate of Presbyterian Pan American School. Grace received her Bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey and went on to obtain her Master’s Degree from SMU and her JD from the University of Minnesota Law School. Grace has had many careers. She is writing a book, she sang and danced with Eric Estrada from “Los Muchachos de San Juan” and CHIPS. She also had a TV show called “Mi Casa, Tu Casa” on PBS in the early 70’s. She was a public defender for years and worked for Governor Quie in Minnesota as a Special Assistant. Her last job (and now a sub) was as a Visiting Professor/Lecturer at the University of Texas at Arlington. Gracie loves retirement and enjoys writing, piano, art, volunteering at the senior center, exercising, and serving as an
Elder at El Divino Salvador Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
Grace has been married for 44 years to Bonaventura (Reno) Lauro, who graduated from Pan Am in 1966 and went on to obtain his Engineering degree from Texas A & I. Reno works for Stryker, Corporation, where he designs artificial knees and works on hospital equipment. They have two sons and five grandchildren. Grace is also proud of her 5 sisters and 1 brother, several who attended Pan Am, and all of whom have Masters or Doctorates in something.
Noe Hinojosa ('79)
Noe Hinojosa is a 1979 graduate of Presbyterian Pan American School. He is a native of Brownsville, Texas and was raised in Matamoros, Mexico. Noe graduated from the University of Texas at Pan American with a B.B.A. degree in Computer Information Systems and was granted the “Distinguished Alumni Award” in 2006.
In 1992, Noe co-founded Estrada Hinojosa, an investment banking firm, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with offices in Houston, San Antonio, San Diego, CA, and Miami, FL. He is currently the President and CEO of the company. In 2005, the firm ranked 3rd in the State of Texas and 11th in the nation among Financial Advisory firms dealing with municipal debt.
In 1995, Noe was selected as the first Hispanic to serve on the Texas Municipal Advisory
Council, the state industry’s board. He was also appointed by former President George W. Bush to the Board of Directors of the Securities Industry Protection Corporation, completing his second term in 2006. He also serves on several civic boards throughout the state. Noe resides in Dallas with his wife, Marcia.
